Цель:  To present and practice new vocabulary. Describing recent events. Writing an email giving recent news.

Организационный момент: Teacher Hello my dear friends. How are you today? How are filling today?  Who is on duty today?  What date is it today? What days is it today?

Грамматика: Revision: I’m, I live, I’ve got

Чтение: P4 Ex3. Read through the introduction to the text and the five topics. Ask the question and then play the recording. With books closed, students listen for the answer to the question. Ask students to say any words or information they heard in relation to the four topics mentioned. Play the recording again while students listen and read. Pause to elicit or explain the meaning of new vocabulary. Then play the recording while students listen and read. Play the recording again. Pause to help with new vocabulary. Ask some question to check comprehension. Choose two students to read out the example question and answer question. If necessary, go through the other questions with the class and elicit the answer. In pairs students take it in turns to read out a question and give the answer.

Аудирование: P4 Ex1. Introduce the word news. Explain that this word is an uncountable noun. Read out the list of topics and then set the time limit. Students read the sentences and match them with the topics. Play the recording. Students listen and check their answers. Play the recording again. Students listen and repeat the key vocabulary. Ex2. Ask students to read the words and say them aloud quietly to themselves. Then play the recording while they listen and read. Play the recording again and ask students to repeat. If necessary, practice the/s/sound in isolation, and then in combination with the other consonants. Play the second part of the recording while students listen and read sentence. Ex6. Look at the photos. Ask students to say what they can see and write notes on the board. You could ask them to guess what the news report will say about each of these photos. Tell students to write the numbers of the photos in the right order as they hear the stories in the news report. Play the recording, twice if necessary. Students listen and complete the task.

Ask students to indentify other pieces of equipment in the photo and to guess what other things were used. Ask  question. Discuss what happens to the machinery that we throw away and what else could be done with it. Ex3 . ask students to translate the examples and make sure they understand the meaning of yet and already. Draw attention to the use of the present perfect with these words.

Тема: What you remember?

Цель:  To present and practice new vocabulary. Describing recent events. Writing an email giving recent news.

Чтение: P6 Ex2. Look at the text title and the photo. Explain that Yellowstone is a national park in the USA and use the photo to introduce the word geyser. Read out the question and ask students to read through the text quickly. Tell them not to worry if there are words they don’t understand – they should skim over these and aim to get a general idea of what the text is about. You could set a time limit of two minutes for this task. Ask Students to say what the hot secret is in the title of the text.

Аудирование: P6 Ex2 Play the recording while students listen and read. Pause the elicit or explain the meaning of new vocabulary. For example: hot spring, eruption, ash, cover, alive, earthquake, increase, level rise. Encourage students to guess the meanings as far as possible. Students read the questions and look back at the text to find the answer.

Устная речь и письмо графика: p7 Ex1. Discuss the questions with the class. The news stories could be foreign, national or local events. Ask students to say briefly what’s happened, helping with vocabulary if necessary. You could ask  them to indentify these events with the topics in Step1.

Ex3. Ask students to study the differences between the two examples and to give the translation in their language. Point out that so is followed by a/an +adjective+noun . Look at the example with the class. You may want to work through the rest of the exercise orally before asking students to write the sentences. Note that so can also be followed by an adverb for example: He talks so quickly that I can’t understand him. Note also that when we make an exclamation, especially in conversation. It’s possible to use so and such a without adding a result clause with that.

Ex4 Writing. This exercise can b started in class and finished for homework. Read out the instruction for the writing task. Point out that a newsletter usually comes out quite often and is about recent events. Brainstorm with the class to gather examples of school events that they could write about .Ask students to say a little about each one and jot down useful vocabulary on the board. Read through the Writing guide with the class. Remind students of the use of the present perfect to announce a recent event, and the use of the past simple when we go on to say what happened in more detail. Students choose their topic and write their report. Encourage them to write about more than one event if they can starting a new paragraph for each one. You could ask students to think of a heading for each of their paragraphs.

Чтение: P14 Ex2. Read out the introduction to the dialogue and look at the photos from 1900 and 1943. Ask students to indentify New York and to guess who the people are. Don’t confirm or correct their answer yet. Play the recording while students listen and read. Were their ideas correct? You could ask students for their ideas about why these people emigrated to the USA in 1900 and to England in 1943

АудированиеP15 Ex6. Listening and speaking. Look at the photos. If you have any surfing enthusiasts in the class, ask them to name some good beaches for surfing. Ask students to read the table and copy it into their notebooks. Ask them to pencil in any information they think they know from the first listening. Play the recording again. Students complete the information in the table. Look at the example and ask students to answer the question.

P16-17 Ex1. Read out the words in the list. Set the time limit and ask students to match the words with the pictures. Most of the words should be familiar or easy to guess from other words that they know. Play the recording. Students listen and check. Ex2. Ask students to read the words and say them quality to themselves. Play the first part of the recording while students listen and read. Ask them to pick out the word with the different vowel sound in each group. Play the recording again. Ex3. Ask students to close their books. Explain the meaning of precious and practice the pronunciation. Ask the question and play the recording. With books closed students listen for the answer to the question.

Устная речь и письмо графика: P18-19 Ex1,3,4,5,7 Some of your students may come from elsewhere themselves and others may know someone who comes from a different part of the country or from abroad . ask as many of them a possible to contribute a piece of information. You might like to start with or add some information about your own family or friends.

P61 Ex4,5,6,7 Look at the example and ask students to complete the explanation. Point out that ever with the present perfect means at any time up to now. Draw attention to the remember. Box to revise superlative adjectives.
